Before Heritage Landing became the beautiful resort-style community you see today, it had a very different life. Originally developed as Tern Bay Golf & Country Club in 2007, the community faced tough times during the housing crash of 2008. The HOA dissolved, the golf course stopped being maintained, and much of the land returned to its natural state.

As the fairways grew wild, nature reclaimed the area. Residents who stayed through those challenging years often talk about the amazing wildlife that began to appear daily—wading birds, wild turkeys, deer, and even the occasional wild hog. It was a reminder of just how abundant and unspoiled Southwest Florida’s natural environment can be.

Even during those uncertain years, many homeowners remained, forming a tight-knit, resilient community. Their love for the area never wavered, and they were rewarded with incredible views of native Florida wildlife just outside their windows.
